The Lockheed P-38 Lightning had been a global War II United states fighter aircraft built by Lockheed. Developed to an united states of america Army Air Corps requirement, the P-38 had distinctive double booms and just one, central nacelle containing the cockpit and armament. Known as "fork-tailed devil" by the Luftwaffe, the P-38 was found in numerous functions, including dive bombing, level bombing, ground-attack, photo reconnaissance missions, and extensively as a long-range escort fighter when designed with drop tanks under its wings.
