The Supermarine Spitfire Mk VII was developed to produce to British Royal Air Force a successful thin air fighter. The earlier Mk VI variation was not considered suitable to contrast the hazard from high altitude enemy bombers . The Spitfire Mk VII, specially inside setup because of the powerful and reliable Merlin 71 motor, could achieve the solution ceiling of 45,100 foot (13,700 m.) and guarantee superb thin air performance much better than the earlier versions. The Spitfire Mk VII was characterized by a pressurized cabin, the four-bladed propeller, a lengthier fuselage plus the extended and pointed wing tips Remained in production from August 1942 until very early 1944 andmore than 140 aircrafts were manufactured in the period.
