ATR 42-500
The ATR 42 originated by the Italian-French manufacturer “Aeromobili da Trasporto Regionale” and making its very first trip in the center of ‘80s. The purpose of the task was to create a twin-turboprop passenger aircraft that could be utilized as short-haul local airliner. The low working costs as well as the possibility to remove and also to land on brief runways were the key features of this small aircraft and had been the bottom for the commercial success regarding the task. The ATR-500, introduced in mid ‘90s, had been the improved version and it adopts new machines and six-bladed propellers. Also a passionate military version, the ATR 42 MP “Surveyor” was developed to execute maritime patrol duties. It's employed by Italian Coast Guard, Capitanerie di Porto and Guardia di Finanza.
