A-10A THUNDERBOLT II
This large twin-engine plane was designed for the U.S. Air Force for troop support and anti-tank missions. Despite its considerable armour and armament the A-10 is highly maneouverable which is especially important to over come enemy anti-aircraft fire. The Thunderbolt (also known as Warthog) had been virtually built around its remarkable 30 mm gun GAU-8, that may perforate tank armour using its unique powerful ammo. The aircraft had been trusted through the Gulf War, in which it successfully destroyed a couple of hundred Iraqui vehicles with minimal losings inspite of the hefty enemy protection of old-fashioned and missile fire power.
