The multirole Tornado is a twin-engine combat aircraft with a variable-sweep wing. This type of aircraft is the consequence of a joint development task completed by Uk, German and Italian businesses. Although during its lifetime it's been used for several purposes (ground assault, electronic combat/reconnaissance, interceptor), its primary role has long been to execute low-altitude penetrating hit missions. Tornado can load and use a strong and varied group of unpleasant tools. Thanks to its two effective afterburning turbofans, the Tornado can achieve the max speed of Mach 2.2. The Tornado baptism of fire took place in 1991 throughout the Gulf War. More at length, the air campaign for the Gulf War, where the Italian Tornados IDS participated, started on 17th January. The goal of the aerial bombing campaign had been the suppression of armed forces objectives and infrastructures.
