Description

On August 1990, the Iraqi troops invaded Kuwait with no warning. The effect was immediate utilizing the United Nations that declared a Resolution placed financial sanctions on Saddam Hussein’s national. Above 30 States, led by united states of america, deployed forces to generate a Coalition using the purpose to expel Iraqi troops from Kuwait. The war started with an aerial and a naval bombardment on 17 January 1991 and after 5 months it had been followed closely by a ground assault on 24th February. After couple of days, the Coalition forces, led by General Norman Schwarzkopf, thanks to a definite technical superiority and an excellent level of co-ordination involving the various armed forces involved, could actually beat the Iraqi forces A cease-fire was declared 100 hours after the ground campaign began. On 27th January the Coaltion forces declared that Kuwait happens to be liberated.
