JS - 2M STALIN

The look of new German heavy tanks on Asian front side - the Tiger in specific -, stimulated Soviet designers to develop a new generation of armoured automobiles, based on the T-100 prototype. The torsion bar suspension system was mounted greater into the hull, reducing the tanks height from ground and permitting the installation of a larger turret in a position to hold a 100mm cannon (into the JS-1) or a 122mm cannon (in JS-2, which showed up at the end of 1943).
