One of "Sideways" Ronnie's Rides
At the 1976 F1 World Championships, the famous Tyrrell P34 six-wheeler made its debut and demonstrated outstanding performance throughout the season. In the following period, First nationwide City Bank became the key sponsor and car's livery ended up being changed to a blue and white two-tone scheme. The P34 also featured the full engine cowling to improve aerodynamics and was driven by P. Depailler and R. Peterson. Tyrrell encountered difficulty once the development of P34's unique front tires stagnated because of the tire war between Michelin and Goodyear, but they proceeded their efforts to win by simply making corrections such as a return toward previous 12 months's motor cowling through the Monaco GP.
