Based on the Toyota Celica carry straight back 2000GT, the Celica LB Turbo Gr.5 was made to comply with the Group 5 race category rules. A 2,090cc 560hp engine powered the lightweight machine plus it defeated Porsche's 935 Turbos to seize an extraordinary victory at Round 4 Belgium through the 1977 German DRM period. Tamiya's R/C model of Toyota Celica LB Turbo Gr.5 faithfully reproduces the car's long-nose, short-deck type with polycarbonate, as the back wing, back wing plates, and headlight parts are separately molded for improved realism. Included markings allow depiction of vehicle No.68.
