The Toyota Soarer made its debut in February 1981 as Toyota’s very first personal luxury automobile. This 2-door hardtop coupe showcased an extended nose with short deck and top-quality inline-6 engine, plus an array of the newest auto technology the inside. Inheriting equivalent streamlined form, the Soarer VR-Turbo – a grade added in June 1981 – used the inline-6 turbo engine capable of 145hp. This automobile, which offered quality performance with not just speed but also comfortability, is generally thought to be perhaps one of the most prominent luxury cars inside 1980s.
