Towards Japanese Heavy Cruiser Mikuma
The second of four Mogami Class Cruisers to be loaded with five 15.5cm triple weapons ended up being the Mikuma. Completed in August 1935, its primary weapons were later replaced with 20.3cm double guns turning this ship into huge cruiser. Though of same course, the Mikuma's connection as well as other structures are slightly various from those of its elder sister, the Mogami. The Mikuma was an element of the 7th Heavy Cruiser Squadron for the 2nd fleet and took part in the Malay landing operation together with Battle of Sunda Strait at the start of the Pacific War. But, during the battle of Midway, whenever all ships associated with the 7th Squadron made simultaneous evasive maneuvers to escaspe from an enemy submarine, the end associated with Mogami relocated forward and slammed into the Mikuma. A short while later, the Mikuma sustained hefty attacks from over 100 US bombers and sank to your ocean floor on seas Northwest of Midway.
