1/48 German Sturmgeschutz III Ausf.G
From the Waves of Allied Armor
The absolute most many form of the StuG III, over 7800 type G guns were produced between December 1942 and April 1945. Early G-type had a welded-type weapon mantlet, while an 80mm thick cast Saukopf gun mantlet ended up being added in February 1944. The superstructure had been redesigned and an MG42 device weapon with shield, commander's eyesight cupola and smoke dischargers were also added. Armed with a far more effective, long barreled 75mm L/48 weapon, the Ausf.G was assigned the role of a tank destroyer in place of that of an attack weapon. The StuH type-42 variant mounted a 105mm howitzer on the StugG III Ausf.G chassis and originated to fulfill the StuG III's original role of infantry help.
