The Light Armored car started initially to achieve Japan Ground self defense purposes Force (JGSDF) devices in 2002; lightweight (as the title shows) and powered by a 160hp liquid-cooled 4-cylinder diesel, this nimble consumer can achieve rates of up to 100km/h as well as be air-lifted by helicopter if the need arises. From 2004, the JGSDF delivered a Humanitarian Assistance Team to Iraq, and experience gained in industry resulted in some improvements being applied to Light Armored cars for use in Japanese archipelago. It comes in a number of specs, tailored on requirements of its product and whether they require smoke dischargers, 5.56 MINIMI device weapon, etc.
