During the time of its introduction in 1942, the German Tiger I was the absolute most effective and sophisticated tank available all over the world, and is still considered a weaponry masterpiece of the period. Most of the Tiger I's were created by Henschel, a heavy industry manufacturer in Germany. The subsequent versions regarding the Tiger we went into manufacturing in January 1944, nearly two . 5 years following its first. Many features such as the dense armor plating, measuring up to 100mm thick at some areas, staying unchanged. Roadwheel improvements consisted of replacing the plastic rimmed roadwheels with new wheels that ran on steel rims, that have been insulated from hub by two plastic rings clamped between disc-shaped pressings. Modifications made to the turret had been: a commander's cupola with seven eyesight ports, an anti-aircraft machine weapon band, and a side pivoting hatch; a loader's hatch with periscope; the smoke exhaust socket relocated to the center regarding the turret; and internally mounted "S" mine dischargers. The 88mm KwK36(L/56) main weapon had been considered for replacement because of the awesome KwK43(L/71) cannon, as applied to the King Tiger, but ended up being never achieved. It's been stated that one Tiger I tank had been corresponding to five Sherman tanks regarding battlefield and it had been the absolute most feared and respected of German tanks during the conflict.
