This 1/35 Military Miniature Series model kit illustrates the German Panther, a WWII AFV produced by Germany to combat the mighty Russian T-34. Provided the importance of stopping the T-34 whilst the Russians turned the tide in WWII, the Panther was important and this was emphasized by armored warfare specialist Heinz Guderian's role in design process. The Panther packed a robust L/70 7.5cm weapon (rumored to own applied for a T-34 at 3km) and combined it with exemplary mobility and a 55km/h top rate. In the same way significantly, it made great use of T-34-inspired sloped armor, around 80mm in places. As things turned out, growth of the Panther ended up being hurried due to the fact German situation worsened, and this resulted in severe reliability issues in engagements like the Battle of Kursk in July 1943. Despite that, it proved offensively and defensively highly capable. The Ausf.D had been the first variant associated with the Panther; 842 were manufactured between January and September 1943.
