This device first competed inside 11th event of this 2001 WRC season in Sanremo. Unlike the guidelines for Group A, that do not allow major deviations from production variation, Group N permits extreme alterations particularly modification of engine positioning and revamping of car mechanics. Underneath the rules of Group N, Mitsubishi's new machine retained exactly the same overall kind while the manufacturing variation but had its guts redesigned for pure rally racing.

The TB-01 Chassis- Optimizing durability and drive-efficiency

For increased drive performance the chassis employs a longitudinally set up engine and shaft drive and a full set of ball-bearings. The sturdy, hardened resin main and upper frames are prepared shock-absorbing oil dampers and independent 4-wheel double wishbone suspension system that offers top maneuvering over dirt. Created for superior control, the chassis features a low center of gravity for unrivaled security, and block pattern semi-pneumatic plastic tires offer superb traction both on-road and over light dirt surfaces.
