Towards P-47D Thunderbolt
Perhaps one of the most famous planes of WWII, the P-47D Thunderbolt was a superb single chair fighter airplane excelling in high-altitude bomber escort and low-altitude ground assault. The P-47D featured a turbo-supercharged engine and had been active on both European and Pacific fronts. To fix the situation of insufficient visibility of earlier in the day models, later on Thunderbolt models had been redesigned with a transparent bubble canopy, ultimately causing the delivery for the "Bubbletop".
