The Ilyushin IL-2 Shturmovik had been the Russian armed forces's main ground-attack aircraft during WWII, with more than 36,000 examples built by the finish of this war. Production associated with single-seat form of the IL-2 started in March 1941 but severe losings resulted in the development of a two-seat version with a rear gunner. A version which showcased external wing parts swept back at 15-degrees for a better center of gravity was introduced in late-1943. Alongside the T-34 tank, the Il-2 contributed significantly to the eventual Russian victory.?
