The previous Soviet Union jet bomber, the Ilyushin IL-28, was first implemented in 1950 and was later on adopted by countries of Warsaw Pact. Boasting a 3-ton armament-payload and effective at holding tactical nuclear weapons, the IL-28 saw action in the centre East and Nigeria into the belated 1960's.
