The cornerstone for a Champion
In 1963, famous Italian automobile maker Alfa Romeo released the Giulia Sprint GT, an elegant coupe with a 1600cc DOHC 4-cylinder motor. This vehicle was further refined for motorsport usage, together with result was the Giulia Sprint GTA. The GTA featured such performance adjustments as lightweight aluminum human anatomy panels and a twin plug ignition system which increased capacity to 116hp. Alfa Romeo's motorsport division, Autodelta, went further and produced a complete race-spec form of the GTA, which continued to win the European Touring automobile Championship from 1966-1969.
