From demand made by the Italian atmosphere force, the Reggiane Re2000 had been produced and had its maiden journey in 1939. The aircraft showcased an all-metal low-wing monoplane which differed off their Italian fighter designs. The Reggiane ended up being improved upon and installed with an air-cooled 1,175cc engine to create the Re2002 which was used by the Italian atmosphere force as a fighter bomber. This aircraft had two nose installed 12.7mm firearms, two 7.7mm wing mounted firearms, and had the capability to hold a 650kg bomb under its fuselage. They first saw combat regarding Allied intrusion of Sicily in July 1943. Whenever Italy surrendered, the Luftwaffe used them for anti-partisan duties. Many of these aircraft joined the Italian Co-Belligerent Air Force and fought alongside using the Allies.
