The AV-8B Harrier II is a family of second-generation vertical/short takeoff and landing or V/STOL ground-attack aircraft of belated twentieth century. It is mainly employed for light attack or multi-role tasks, typically operated from small aircraft providers and large amphibious attack ships. The AV-8B can be used by the usa aquatic Corps. The Uk Harrier GR7/GR9 versions are employed by the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy. Variations are used by NATO countries: Spain, and Italy. 1st AV-8B Harrier IIs produced had been popularly known as the "Day Attack" variant, and tend to be no longer in service. Many were upgraded to evening Attack Harrier or Harrier II Plus standards, aided by the remainder being withdrawn from solution.
