Front big-bore shock spring for carpet/astro

This spring is an RC-scale front shock spring developed by Team Yokomo for high-grip carpet and artificial turf surfaces. Its big-bore profile and reduced overall length help lower ride height while maintaining controlled rebound, which aids smoother landings from jumps and reduces the tendency to catch or flip on tacky surfaces.

In practical setup terms, the spring’s role is to alter suspension response without changing shock bodies or mounts. Expect firmer midstroke support compared with standard short springs, which helps resist high-side roll on artificial turf and keeps the chassis more settled through high-speed corners. Installation is the same as any front shock spring: replace the coil on the shock shaft, check preload, and re-evaluate shock oil and piston choices to match track conditions.

Use this spring when your setup needs quicker rebound control for tight, grippy tracks and when you want to run a slightly lower ride height without sacrificing jump stability.

It’s designed specifically for high-grip carpet and artificial turf tracks where added midstroke support and controlled rebound help stability.
You may need to adjust oil weight or piston setup to tune damping around the spring’s increased midstroke support, but no special oil is required.
Installation is the same as standard front springs: remove the shock shaft, swap the coil, set preload, and verify ride height and clearances.
